Abstract:
Monwabisi Archibald 'Archie' Mafeje was a world-renowned academic who taught and worked in some of the top universities on three continents. He was one of the pioneers in advocating an Afrocentric approach to the study of issues affecting Africans and African countries - not only in his own disciplines of sociology and anthropology, but also in contemporary economic and political theory and practice.
